"My three children
and I have been coming to Frimhurst for many years. This
place has been a source of friendship and support for us
through our most difficult times, and it is where we began
the process of understanding what the effects of poverty
on our lives are and what we can do about it. |
In our unsafe and unstable lives
Frimhurst is a safe haven, a security for us, a place of
hope where we don’t have to pretend or be ashamed.
We get a chance to be normal, to be people amongst people,
parents amongst parents, and to make friends with people
we would not otherwise meet - as equals. We learn together
and from each other.
We know that if we have difficulties we are not seen as
failures. We are accepted where we are in our lives and
our efforts to change are recognised and encouraged by people
who really care about us. Being here means that we are no
longer alone and isolated, we can dare to hope for a better
future for our family and for others too."
